Update 27/01/08

From Andi:

Hi everyone,
Tim had chemo today and will have it daily now for the next 2 weeks.
He begins radiation daily as well, starting the first week of
February. He has a day in radiation oncology next week, which is
called a 'planning' day. He will be having radiation to his chest (
as that is where there is a large mass ) and also to his brain ( to
prevent a spread to his nervous system....his brain is all clear at
present). We have been told that the radiation doubled with the chemo
daily is going to be very tough on his body.....but he is ready for
it. With each treatment, he is a step closer to being cured.....SO
BRING IT ON.
Thanks to everyone who has dropped in a meal. Can't tell you how much
I appreciate it.
Love Andi.

Weekly update

Latest update from Andi Hamilton:

Tim has just undergone day two of chemo in day oncology. It has knocked him about a bit more this week, has had nausea, head aches and extreme fatigue. Unfortunately, not enough to knock out the bad jokes........I doubt even chemo will do that!!!!! He has a massive appetite, literally does not stop eating when he is awake, but yet has dropped 8kg. He says he is going to get his year 12 body back......no complaints from me!! Tim is extremely positive. He is having daily meditation lessons and even said last week that this whole experience was strangely enlightening. Only Tim could draw these positives...he is truly amazing. Thanks to everyone for your ongoing support. We love you. Andi, Tim, Josh & Ben. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Introduction

Early this year Tim Hamilton was diagnosed with T-Lymphoblasticlymphoma, which is a very aggressive form of lymphoma.

This blog has been created to keep all concerned updated on his progress, and to act as an information centre for all upcoming fundraising activities to help the Hamilton family as they begin the battle ahead.

Latest news - from Andrea Hamilton:

Tim begins chemo today (Admin - Jan 9th) and will continue for 6 months. Even though it is so aggressive, it is curable and the doctors are positive. It is a 'pot luck' type of cancer and has no correlation to lifestyle habits or family genetics. It is most common in 18-20 year olds. Tim remains in the Austin until he stabilises (Admin - as of Jan 13, Tim has been able to move back home). We appreciate all of your support at this very hard time for our families. At present we would appreciate some time to process this shocking news and come to terms with what it all means and how it will impact on our lives.

Please contact the admin at thehamiltonfamilyblog@gmail.com if you have any questions or suggestions for content and activities.

If you would like to leave a message of support, please either leave a comment below or simply email the admin.

Please see the Important Links section for a link to the calender function. This will list important dates regarding upcoming fundraising activities and any particular dates where help with the Hamilton Landscapes business would be appreciated.

In time we also hope to provide a link to a site for donations for those who have more money than time and would like to lend a hand.
